SLOVAKIA BASED // DOCS

Slovakia Based is a lightweight realtime chat platform with public category rooms and end-to-end encrypted invite-only DIRECT rooms.

The platform works in a web browser and as an Android application.

PUBLIC ROOMS

Current categories:

Users choose a nickname and enter a room without creating an account. Messages are delivered in realtime to users connected to that room.

CHAT

• Realtime WebSocket messaging

• Notification sound for incoming messages
• Maximum message length: 4000 characters
• No server-side message history

LOCAL HISTORY

Chat history is stored locally in the browser or Android WebView using localStorage. Each room has its own local history.

Server-side history: NO
Client-side local history: YES

Local history is stored only on the current device.

DIRECT ROOMS

DIRECT creates an unlisted private room identified by a random 128-bit token.

• DIRECT rooms are not listed with public categories
• Users join using an invite link
• DIRECT messages are end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM
• The encryption key stays in the URL fragment and is not sent to the server
• Cloudflare relays encrypted DIRECT messages without access to the encryption key
• DIRECT has separate local message history
• Multiple DIRECT rooms can be saved locally, renamed, reopened and removed
• Private voice and video calls use WebRTC
• DIRECT rooms support shared YouTube music

DIRECT local message history is currently stored locally as plaintext. Encryption of local DIRECT history is planned.

DIRECT MUSIC

Shared music can be played for everyone connected to the same DIRECT room.

PLAY A SONG

/song <YouTube URL>

The selected YouTube video temporarily replaces the currently selected radio station for users in the DIRECT room.

RETURN TO RADIO

/radio

Shared music stops and the user's own selected radio station is restored. Leaving the DIRECT room also restores the user's own radio station.

YouTube URLs are currently supported directly. Song search by name, queue support, skip commands and more precise playback synchronization are planned.

RADIO

Slovakia Based contains an integrated YouTube-based radio player.

Current stations:

• MELIŠKO RADIO

The radio supports:

• Play / Pause
• Previous track
• Next track
• Volume control
• Playlist shuffle
• Radio on / off setting
• Remembering the selected station

DIRECT shared music temporarily replaces the normal radio playlist. After shared music ends, the user's selected station can be restored.

VOICE / VIDEO

DIRECT rooms support private voice and video calls using WebRTC.

• Voice calls use WebRTC
• Video calls use WebRTC
• WebRTC signaling is encrypted through DIRECT
• STUN currently uses stun.cloudflare.com
• Voice/video currently requires exactly 2 users in the DIRECT room

TURN fallback for restrictive networks is not implemented yet.

Public categories use separate CategoryRoom Durable Objects. DIRECT rooms use categories in the form:

direct-<random-token>

Cloudflare does not receive the DIRECT encryption key.

External links are opened by Android in the appropriate browser or application instead of replacing the active Slovakia Based chat.

Native Android push notifications are available for public and DIRECT room messages while the Android app is in the background.
